Review Time - Beauty Box 5! (May)
Imagine going to pick up the mail and finding this cute, colorful box with your name on it waiting for you. Now imagine opening that cute box and finding five amazing treasures inside. All I could say when I saw what was in my May Beauty Box 5, was WOW! The box had a "Mermayd" theme -- Very girly girl and right up my alley. Testing these items has been pure pleasure and I'm eager and excited to share my findings with you.

Rosarco Milk Reparative Leave-In Spray - Briogeo - $20
A mermaid-themed box would be incomplete without some sort of hair care product. In this case it was Rosarco Milk Reparative Leave-In Spray. After washing my hair, I applied the spray to my damp locks, especially focusing on my dry ends, which tend to get almost straw-like. The first thing I noticed was the gorgeous smell of this leave-in conditioner. It made me double check the bottle to see what it was. Turns out it contains rosehip, argan and coconut oil aka the Rosarco blend. After massaging in the conditioner, I noticed how easy it was to comb through my usually tangled wet hair. Once dry, my ends were soft and well moisturized, which you can clearly see in the pictures below that were taken the following day during filming. Ariel's got nothing on me! I also love that this leave-in spray acts as a barrier against damaging UV rays. Something that's essential when you live in sunny California.
Mermaid Lashes Splash Proof Mascara - Glamour Dolls - $4.99
Those of you familiar with my blog know I'm a sucker for mascara. I've made it my life's mission to find the ultimate mascara (Okay, that sounds extreme and desperate... Let's just say... I enjoy testing mascara ha ha). Over time, I've learned not to judge items by their price tag, because I've found some real makeup treasures in the drugstore clearance isle and some awful products at high-end department stores. After one coat of this mascara, I was not doing somersaults. (Remember, this is Kimberly... I tell it like it is). I wasn't disappointed, because most mascaras don't give fabulous results with just one coat. After applying a second and third coat, my eyes lit up, because I noticed that my lashes appeared longer and thicker. Extra bonus -- This mascara will hold up during tearjerker movies on date night, because it's splash proof!
You're so Fine Liquid Liner in Glitterati - Elizabeth Mott - $18
Eyeliner can be the difference between average eyes and gorgeous eyes. This liquid liner will make your eyes your best accessories. I am the first to tell you that I am not great at creating wings. I've tried everything from pencils to liquids, and found that many don't live up to their promise. The applicator tip of this liner is so fine, that it's almost impossible to make mistakes. You can easily build up your wings from modest to dramatic. It applies wet and dries as it sets, leaving a glittery spark to highlight your eyes. Although you can use this liner during daytime, the glitter accent, makes it ideal for nighttime glam. As an added bonus, it's also waterproof. I was planning on adding a picture of my fierce wings with this post but forgot to take a selfie (owe you one)!
Luxurious Lipstick in crush - Appeal Cosmetics - $29
For a girl who practically lives in pink and red lipsticks, this coral lipstick was a nice break from the norm. It's the perfect color for summer and because its so pigmented, you don't need a lot of other makeup to draw attention to your face -- Your lips will steal the show! This vibrant lipstick is very creamy, which is ideal if you tend to have dry lips. I also like that you can apply it in layers, allowing you to build up to the desired color brightness. Definitely a keeper, especially during the warm, sunny months.
Mocha-Kyssed Bronzer Lotion - Mystic Tan - $35
I'm not going to lie, but the scent of this bronzer lotion made me want to use it so bad. It has a nice powdery fragrance that is very pleasant. Because I'm already tan, I didn't use this sunless tanner, but I found myself applying the lotion to my wrists just so I could smell it. According to the packaging, the lotion moisturizes, while allowing you to build up the color in layers until the desired shade is reached. Most importantly, you don't need to expose your skin to damaging and aging UV rays to get that gorgeous tan. Safety first!
