Review Time! L'Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara & Primer/Base
Hi my lovely BFFs, hope all is going well with each and every one of you. Today, I am reviewing the L'Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara and the Voluminous Primer/Base. Some of you might know that I'm always looking for the next best thing when it comes to mascaras. When it comes to lashes, I don't always feel like putting on falsies, although I love the way they look. I generally only wear false lashes for special occasions and during shoots. Ideally, I want to find a mascara that can really give me that same effect as falsies. To this day, I have still to find it though.
L'Oreal Voluminous Primer/Base
This is exactly what it sounds like... It's a primer that is applied to your lashes right before you apply mascara. Just think of the effect a makeup primer has -- it creates the perfect smooth foundation so the mascara can go on flawlessly. According to the packaging, using this primer will make your lashes visibly thicker and create this blowout effect. It's also suppose to amplify lashes by creating more volume all the while offering conditioning benefits.
In my mind, using the primer made me feel really good. I felt like I was really going to get the most out of my lashes by using it. The brush was large, which was very pleasant and helped make the application effortless.
The white base is applied with just a few strokes to your lashes. I like that this product is bright white, so you can make sure that all lashes are covered, even those really little ones that you might otherwise skip. This primer has a light chemical scent to it, but nothing that is too overwhelming. After applying it, my lashes did seem much longer and fuller.
L'Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara
This mascara is currently the newest mascara launched by L'Oreal, so you can imagine how excited I was to try it. Initially, I was a little confused as to which one to pick. The shades available were Magical Black, Blackest Black and Black. I like my lashes as dark as possible, so I went for Blackest Black.
This mascara has a brush with about 200 bristles, which is said to help create the dramatic volume.
The mascara applied very nicely, although I did find that it took out some of the curl that I had previously created with my lash curler. My lashes ended up straighter than I wanted them to be. Other than that, my lashes were long and black like spider legs. One application would've been enough, but I couldn't resist to keep going and applied a second coat. When applying too much, I can see that the mascara would clump, but if you apply just enough, you should end up with beautiful lashes. Make sure to watch the video below for all additional comments.
With both products being under $10, you absolutely get your money's worth. I will be using both products. Most likely I'll use the primer only for special occasions, because I'm usually in a rush. The nice thing about the primer is that you can use it with other mascaras too. I am happily impressed with both items and will continue to keep using them until something better comes along.
What about you? Have your tried either one of these products before? If so, what did you think? Do you have a favorite mascara? Let me know, because I am always eager to try new things.
